Black Lava Rock

Black lava rock is an essential for any hardscape collection. With a porous surface its perfect for attaching epiphyte plants and mosses as well as providing plenty of details and surface area for beneficial bacteria.

It's also completely inert and wont affect the PH or hardness of your water chemistry. Black lava rock is lighter than other rock types meaning you will get more volume per KG.

It always pays to have a good selection of stone to choose from when aquascaping and the amount required will depend largely on the layout style you are going for however as an approximate guide we would recommend starting with about 5-10KG of lava rock per 50L of aquarium volume.
